Tumpeting

I decided that I was going to break out my old trumpet and start playing again. I have no idea why I decided to start it up again, I just suddenly had the urge. So Sunday night I found it under about 6 inches of dust hiding deep in the recesses under our bed. I cleaned it up and soaked it in the tub with a little anti-bacterial soap to get rid of the nasties.

My hope is to play in the worship band at church, but I have alot of practicing to do before I am ready for that. The director is excited that I want to join and he said he has alot of ideas of what we can do once I get up to speed. I re-enabled my membership with Bugles Across America too, since I am pretty close to Philly now I can start making a contribution, I never actually played any funerals in Pitt, most were too far away. I hope to be able to start helping out here.

I have been jogging in the morning the last couple of weeks too. I am not sure what has gotten into me lately, but I hope it doesn’t go away any time soon. I am enjoying the extra energy.

As many times as you have moved in the past year or so I am surprised the trumpet could have collected any dust.

You do have a point there. But as I am finding out there is an inordinate amount of dust in our current house. My computer kept over heating in the last month, I pulled the cover off and found that two of the case fans were dead. They were full of lint, as was the rest of the case! The computer had only been there about 6 months!
